Philosophy is both personal and communal -- each student must seek his or her own understanding and perspective through critical analysis, making one's case to others, and listening to their views. The philosophy major explores topics such as ethics, theories of knowledge, logic, art, film, literature, politics, law, gender, medicine, mind and body, and religion. Students explore these areas by reading classic works of philosophy as well as views expressed by virtually any culture or ethnic group, including ones extracted from the news of the day.

Beyond grades and standardized test scores, they weigh the strength of your overall profile to understand who you are as a student and a person.
Profile Assessment: Undergraduate applicants interested in law may choose Pre-Law, Political Science, Economics, History, Philosophy, International Relations or another field. Debate, Model United Nations, mock trials, student government, journalism, advocacy, research and community service may demonstrate critical thinking and communication.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
