Wayne State University's broadcast journalism program prepares our graduates for careers in TV, radio, and digital media. Students learn the fundamentals of journalism, and also learn a wide variety of state-of-the-art on-air and producing and editing techniques. All students get real-world experience by doing internships with some of the many professional TV and radio stations in Metropolitan Detroit. Additionally, they learn how to write news for broadcast and how to design and package information for digital media platforms.
Transcripts from the previously attended schools, High school transcripts, ACT or SAT test scores, English language profeciency (Minimum scores of 79-80 TOEFL iBT and IELTS 6.5 ) US universities use a holistic admissions review. Beyond grades and standardized test scores, they weigh the strength of your overall profile to understand who you are as a student and a person.
Profile Assessment: Applicants are generally assessed on writing, communication, creativity and engagement with media or current affairs. Journalism, school publications, podcasting, filmmaking, photography, social-media projects, debate and communication campaigns may strengthen the profile. Some film or media programs may request a creative portfolio, writing sample or supplementary submission.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
