University of North TexasWith a degree in communication studies, our students are able to master communication theories and research, enhance communication skills, and enhance preparation for a variety of different careers or for graduate study. Supplementing that degree with a teacher certification will give you an additional career option to pursue.
High school GPA of 3.0/4.0 (US grading scale), Interview with Admissions Representative, Test scores: TOEFL minimum required score of 79, IELTS minimum required score of 6.0 overall band. One letter of recommendation is requested. Statement required. SAT - 1500 out of 2400, ACT - 18 English, 22 Reading, 22 Mathematics and 23 Science. Profile Assessment: Applicants are generally assessed on writing, communication, creativity and engagement with media or current affairs. Journalism, school publications, podcasting, filmmaking, photography, social-media projects, debate and communication campaigns may strengthen the profile. Some film or media programs may request a creative portfolio, writing sample or supplementary submission.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
