Musculoskeletal Disorders or MSDs are injuries and disorders that affect the human body s movement or musculoskeletal system (i.e. muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, discs, blood vessels, etc.). Musculoskeletal disorders are associated with high costs to employers such as absenteeism, lost productivity, and increased health care, disability, and worker s compensation costs. MSD cases are more severe than the average nonfatal injury or illness.
