Albert Einstein College of Medicine was founded in the year 1945. The college initially started as a medical school for Yeshiva University. In 1953, the school finally got established as Albert Einstein Medical School. The classes started in 1955 with only a few students. During, that time it was also the first medical school in New York. As the school was part of the Yeshiva University later in 2015 it was transferred to Montefiore.

On-Campus: The college has only two residential halls that are:
Eastchester Road residences are for students only and Rhinelander residence is reserved for Postdocs. These in total have 636 apartments and a 28-story building.
