The laboratory animal medicine residency program at UTHSC in the Department of Comparative Medicine has a clinical specialty emphasis, intended to prepare graduate veterinarians to become productive members of the biomedical research community as specialists in laboratory animal science and medicine and as research animal program directors. The overall objective of the program is to prepare candidates for board certification by the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM). This program will have up to three residents at any one time, traditionally accepting and graduating one resident yearly in this three-year program.
High school cumulative GPA of 3.5 and composite score of 25 on the ACT or 1220 (equivalent to 1150 on old exam) on the SAT.
