Program Overview

The B.S.N. in nursing (a 2+2 program with the University of Mississippi Medical Center) prepares graduates for entry-level professional nursing practice and provides a foundation for graduate education in nursing. Nurses have many critical roles in health care today, such as assessing physical and mental health; providing health care in complex environments; providing health education to individuals, families and communities; and working in teams with other health-care providers. Nurses may choose to be advanced practice clinicians, educators, researchers and health-care executives by advancing their education.
