Program Overview

Radiologic technologists are healthcare professionals who administer prescribed radiation for the purpose of medical diagnosis. Registered radiologic technologists perform radiographic procedures using technologically advanced equipment to produce 2-D and 3-D images of the tissue, organs, bones and vessels of patients for evaluation by radiologists (physicians who interpret medical images to either diagnose or rule out disease or injury). They may also choose to specialize in a specific imaging technique such as computed tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging, bone densitometry, cardiovascular-interventional radiography, quality management, or general radiography.
