Program Overview

The Statistics major at UGA prepares students for a statistical career by developing analytical, research, and presentation skills; mastering new and classic statistical ideas; and developing innovative statistical analysis and sampling techniques through problem solving and new technologies. Students tailor their coursework toward one of two areas of specialization: Data Analysis - preparation for a statistical career; or Mathematical Statistics preparation for graduate school or further training.
