Program Overview

The Human Services Department has two areas of concentration--Human Services Generalist and Human Services Generalist and Human Services Substance Abuse. Those majoring in the Human Services Generalist Program often find employment with an Associate of Applied Science degree, and many ECC graduates go on to earn bachelor s and master s degrees in social work, counseling, or psychology. The Substance Abuse Counseling Program is designed for those entering higher education for the first time as well as those who already have an advanced degree but are seeking the State of Illinois Certification as an addiction recovery counselor. All courses are taught by experienced instructors in the human services field.
