The below information is required while
completing the university application :
Open Admission Policy
ECC operates under an open door admission policy, meaning it admits all applicants who meet basic criteria — there is no requirement for high school diploma, ACT/SAT test scores, or minimum GPA in most cases.
High School / Transcripts
Applicants are encouraged to submit official high school transcripts (or equivalent) when they apply.
If a student does not have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and is under 18, ECC may admit them upon written evidence of high school separation.
Current high school students or home-schooled students may enroll in certain college courses (dual credit) under special procedures.
English Proficiency (for International Students)
For non-U.S. applicants (F-1 visa students), ECC requires proof of English proficiency. Accepted standards include TOEFL, IELTS, etc.
ECC’s international student application documentation states that English proficiency is not required for general admission to the college, but for the visa/immigration process and specific program eligibility it may be needed.
Placement / Testing
All new students may be required to take placement tests (in English, Math, reading) to determine course placement and readiness.
ECC accepts ACT, SAT, PSAT, HiSet, and GED scores to satisfy minimum competency requirements.
Special Program / Department Requirements
Certain programs (e.g. Health Professions, Technical programs) may have additional requirements, such as prerequisite courses, GPA thresholds, or program-specific entrance criteria.
For ECC’s Honors Program, there are specific criteria:
• High school GPA of 3.5 on 4.0 scale, or
• ACT score of 25, or
• SAT score of 1230 (new SAT) or 1710 (old SAT)
International Student / F-1 Visa Requirements
International students must submit financial documentation showing adequate funds to study in the U.S.
They must meet visa-specific criteria (e.g. age minimum of 17, English proficiency, full-time enrollment) under U.S. immigration regulations.
In some cases, international students without sufficient English may enroll in the Intensive English Program (IEP).
