The Juris Doctor (JD) is a professional doctorate and first professional graduate degree in law, and allows individuals to take the bar exam in all 50 states. The JD program at the University of Illinois is full-time for three years of study.

Profile Assessment: Undergraduate applicants interested in law may choose Pre-Law, Political Science, Economics, History, Philosophy, International Relations or another field. Debate, Model United Nations, mock trials, student government, journalism, advocacy, research and community service may demonstrate critical thinking and communication.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
