Program Overview

Bioinformatics is the study of information contained within biological, chemical or medical systems. Although initially associated with the analysis of genetic data produced in sequencing the human genome, bioinformatics methods are now used in a wide variety of fields including basic science, biotechnology, medicine, pharmaceutical development and public health. Undergraduate students who major in biology, chemistry, computer science or mathematics may elect the bioinformatics option.
