Students who elect the Chemical Systems concentration are frequently interested in both physics and engineering, or physics but with emphasis on applications. The Chemical Systems concentration allows the student to take many of the courses required for the Chemical Engineering degree, but also to take additional advanced physics courses. Advanced physics training improves the students’ understanding of the fundamentals underlying engineering practice and develops problem-solving skills.
