Hands-on laboratory experience is the primary learning tool for students in the Chemistry major. The emphasis is on students acquiring not only basic chemistry lab skills such as titration, chromatography, and electrophoresis: but, they also have the opportunity to learn more advanced techniques and methods of analysis including gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance, and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy.
