Western New England University was officially established in 1919 as a Springfield Division of Northeastern College which was known as Springfield-Northeastern. Northeastern University's Springfield Division changed its name to Western New England College in 1951. On July 1, 2011, the college officially changed its name from Western New England College to Western New England University to reflect its master's and doctorate programs.

1. Undergraduate International Merit Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines

A limited number of International Student Scholarships starting from $8,000 to $21,000 are provided each year to undergraduate freshmen and transfer students. The scholarship is automatically recovered if a student is in good academic standing, in full-time status, and successfully completing at least 24 credits a year. The Admissions Office selects recipients who have an outstanding academic record and who have at least a 213 computer-based TOEFL score (79-80 Internet-based or 550 paper-based).
