BA Human Geography

4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Elgin Community College

Program Overview

Geographers study how and why places across the Earth share similarities and are distinguished by differences. While physical geographers study topics such as climate zones and landforms, human geographers study regions that are defined by cultural attributes like language, ethnicity, religion, political alliances, and economic interdependence. If you have a desire to travel the world, or even visit a specific country, you are already an amateur geographer. In a human geography class, you will learn how to understand what s happening in the world around you, a critical-thinking skill that forms the basis of a quality education.
