Additional Information & Requirements

GPA (a minimum of 2.7 is required in education core courses, courses in the major and overall). A grade of "C" (2.0) or higher must be earned in all courses counted toward a major or minor in education and in courses with which students are earning a secondary education endorsement. Performance in education courses taken (determined, in part, by ratings on Teaching Dispositions form). The essay completed on the application form. Satisfactory completion of basic skills testing as required by the Iowa Department of Education. (Consult the Education Office for information on the test currently in use and minimum passing scores. Test administration fees are the responsibility of the student.). Other relevant information as provided by the chair and faculty of the education department and comments from faculty in classes the student is enrolled in or has recently taken.
