Program Overview

The A.B. in Geography at UGA is for students who typically have interests in international development, population and demographics, migration, urban studies, globalization, and related issues. Available coursework includes study of cultural and human geography, resources, weather and climate, landforms, statistics and data analysis, macroeconomics, logic, social problems, and cartography. A.B. students tailor coursework along either a Human Geography or Physical Geography emphasis. Students who wish to gain practical work experience with firms or organizations that employ geographers can earn 3-9 semester hours by engaging in an internship.
