Program Overview

Through this concentrated major, successful undergraduates will develop an awareness of global affairs related to the Middle East and North Africa since the early 20th century and in the aftermath of the Arab Spring. This is accomplilshed through diverse and cross-disciplinary theories of interstate relations: conflict, cooperation, hierarchies; civil society, transnational advocacy networks, global social movements; and state-society relations: democracy, authoritarianism, inequalities, citizenship.
