Carnegie Mellon UniversityThe major in Political Science, Security, and Technology takes a social science (not technical) approach to studying emerging technologies that affect war and peace. In this course of study, Carnegie Mellon undergraduates learn how to analyze the political, economic, social, and ethical dimensions of new technologies, equipping themselves to contribute to vital political debates and influence technological developments in the public interest.

Relevant APs can strengthen an application and may earn university credit, but are not compulsory unless the university or programme explicitly requires them.Extracurricular activities: Estimated extracurricular contribution: 15–25%. Carnegie Mellon values focused achievement, creativity, collaboration and evidence of genuine interest in the selected academic area. Technical projects, research, coding, entrepreneurship, arts and interdisciplinary work can strengthen the profile.
