University of California RiversideSociology is the scientific study of human behavior, interaction and organization. It provides a historical and comparative perspective on human societies and offers a framework for understanding society and the complex social world. Students majoring in sociology can choose between a B.A. or B.S. degree. The department also offers majors in Sociology/Administrative Studies, and Sociology/Law and Society; as well as a minor in sociology. All students must meet quarterly prior to course enrollment with the student affairs officer or the undergraduate advisor to develop a program of studies.
