Moving-image media teaches us about the world in which live. With a dual emphasis on critical analysis and creative practice, Courses situate the moving-image within a wider history of media.Often referred to as FAMS, the Film and Media Studies program is open to students at all levels of experience. Courses analyze how moving-images can teach us about the larger history and theory of media and culture.

Common Application, Coalition Application OR QuestBridge Application, Amherst College Writing Supplement, School Report, Secondary School Transcript high school diploma or its recognized equivalent is required before enrolling at Amherst College, Counselor Recommendation, Two Teacher Recommendations, Standardized Test Results, either self-reported or official, for the SAT or ACT, English Proficiency Requirements: 100 on the internet-based TOEFL iBT: 25 or above recommended for each section, 75 on the paper-delivered TOEFL: 25 or above recommended for each section, 7.5 overall band score on IELTS Academic: 7.5 or above recommended for each component score
