The major in sculpture is built on a strong representational foundation, giving you the tools to depict the world as it is, before portraying it as your creativity imagines. As a sculpture major, you'll follow rigorously structured coursework to build that foundation. A strong figurative focus with expose you to both traditional and contemporary designs and will deepen your knowledge of the three-dimensional form. The intersection of traditional and contemporary is a common theme in the major. While learning the fundamentals of anatomy, mold-making, casting, and other elements of composition, you will also have many opportunities to explore digital approaches.
