This program provides education leading to a career as a certified and registered certified dental assistant. Graduates will have acquired specialized knowledge, skills and attitudes to function as a dental health team member with dependent, interrelated and independent roles. Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to become a candidate for the National Dental Assisting Board examination. The exam is a mandatory component for certification and registration with the College of Dental Surgeons of B.C., the regulatory body for certified dental assistants. This program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada.
Grade 12 graduation or equivalent, English 12 with a B grade or equivalent, English Language Proficiency at a grade 12 level, Either Biology 11 or Biology 12 (human biology recommended) or equivalent, official transcripts, Proof of English Proficiency IELTS- 6.5 score, TOEFL- 84 score.
