Program Overview

With inspiring views overlooking the grounds at Lews Castle College UHI and a spacious well-equipped workshop, this HNC provides a creative environment for you to develop your design and jewellery making skills.Through a number of practical projects, you will learn techniques in construction, casting and stone setting to bring your skills up to industry standard. You will also learn to merge practical skills with your creativity through a number of design projects. This will give you the chance to produce jewellery pieces which reflect quality craftsmanship and good design consideration.The HNC is an excellent opportunity for anyone who has a small amount of experience and would like to broaden their skills. It is also a good option for anyone who has been making jewellery for a longer period of time and feels their skills are limited through a lack of specialist training.

Additional Information & Requirements

A National Certificate qualification or appropriate collection of National Certificate Units in Jewellery or equivalent qualification at SCQF level 5 or 6.We will also consider applicants who have had some experience of jewellery making or evidence of experience or qualifications in a related area of Art and Design.
