Program curriculum is based on the Guidelines for the Education of Library Technicians produced by the Canadian Federation of Library Associations and changes continuously to reflect the latest developments in the working world. As a result, a great deal of the students time is spent using computers and software specific to the library and information industry.

Graduates of this long running Seneca program pursue careers in libraries. The libraries where a grad may work are diverse in nature, ranging from those in businesses, hospitals and law firms to school, college and university libraries, and public libraries.
