This two-year Ontario College Diploma program, delivered in a compressed format over 45 weeks, provides students with the skills and experience to start a career in the automotive mechanical industry. It is specially approved by the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development as a Co-op Diploma Apprenticeship program (CODA). Graduates are considered by the Ministry as having completed their formal in-class training requirements for their Certificate of Qualification in the Automotive Service Technician (AST) trade, while also gaining a Motive Power Technician diploma.
Official transcripts, Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent or Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) certificate or General Educational Development (GED) certificate, English: Grade 12 or equivalent with a grade of 70% or higher, IELTS-5.5, TOEFL-IBT: 80 (with the minimum of 20 in each component: Reading 20; Listening: 20; Speaking: 20; Writing: 20)
Graduates may find employment as apprentice mechanics, technical advisors, parts or service management trainees, mechanical supervisors and warranty claims processors. A wide range of employment opportunities may exist, from small garages to large dealerships.
