The Civil Engineering Technician program is designed to prepare you with the basic skills and knowledge to assist in the design and construction process. This is a co-operative education program. Students are required to complete at least one co-op work placement (CWA100) in order to graduate.
High School Diploma and transcripts,Ontario Secondary School diploma with Grade 12 English (ENG4C) and Grade 12 Math for College (MCT4C or MAP4C), OR Mature Student Status (an applicant lacking the formal minimum admission requirements may be admitted through the mature student application process. Mature Student applicants may be referred to College Counseling for academic testing and a recommendation from the Counselor to the Registrar for consideration in their admission. Mature applicants must still submit their high school transcripts and may also be asked for a Resume). 79-80 for the Internet-based test (iBT) or IELTS score of 6.0 with no band lower than 5.5.
Graduates work in a variety of careers including computer-aided drafting and design (CAD), surveying, construction layout and inspection, field and laboratory testing, supervision and scheduling of projects, estimating, sales and marketing, as well as design and construction of municipal installations, highways, pipelines, and hydro-electric developments.
