Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology, commonly referred to as Sault College, is a public college in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada.

Sault College History

Sault College, formerly known as the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Vocational Centre (OVC), was founded in the fall of 1965. In London (now Fanshawe College) and Ottawa, similar technical schools were established (now Algonquin College). As a development of the OVC system, the Ontario government established a public system of Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology in 1967.

Sault College has expanded dramatically throughout the years, introducing programs and courses in a variety of areas through its numerous schools and departments. They now serve more than 4,500 part-time and full-time students each year with postsecondary education.

Sault College Campuses

     The Sault College campus is undergoing renovations right now. The Sault College main campus has everything you need, including a library, a gym, a fitness centre, a cafe, housing, a study hall, and a sitting area.

Sault College Libraries

      On-campus library services are available at Sault College. The first level of the Sault College Library houses the reference and circulation desks, as well as a reading lounge where students can relax while reading their favorite magazines or graphic novels. If you want to relax on a soft couch, go to the 3rd level, where students can rest, work in groups, or study in our study rooms with giant flat screens. Many books, online study materials, archives, and other resources are available at the library.

Sault College Housing services

     Sault College offers a variety of housing options through its residential services. Please utilize the online application form if you are a new student wishing to join Sault Housing in Residence in September 2022. COVID-19 vaccination is required at Sault College Residence. All students living and working in Residence must be fully vaccinated.

Sault College Medical services

 Sault College has a health clinic that provides medical services. The College Health Support Centre provides First Aid/CPR and treatment for minor illnesses, injuries, and emergencies, as well as illness or injury assessment and referral to appropriate care, as well as emergency transportation to health facilities such as the hospital emergency department. Sault College also offers weekly doctor clinics and may arrange for aviation medicals. Call 705-759-2554 ext. 2720 or fax 705-256-4403 to reach the Health Centre.

Students at Sault College have access to sports and fitness facilities. The Sault College Exercise Centre is a fully functional fitness area with cutting-edge equipment that caters to all of your recreational and wellness needs. Whether it's through group exercise programs, personal training, individual strength and cardiovascular activity, or open recreation with a few friends, the Sault College fitness center's well-trained and qualified staffs are ready and prepared to get you orientated and involved.

Sault College Health & Wellbeing

Sault College's health and wellness facility offers a variety of health and wellbeing services. The centre offers a variety of services, including counselling and academic labs to help students learn more effectively.

Students and employees can use fitness rooms to improve their health and well-being.

The purpose of this meeting area is to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information. New Student Life Centre, as well as a new gymnasium to better accommodates varsity sports.

Residents at Sault College enjoy the greatest residential life possible. Ray Lawson Hall provides students with superior single, single, and double rooms. Rooms are assigned to maximize the Residence's efficiency. All kids are assigned a bed by lottery, with the exception of students with special needs. Although your preferences on your residence application form are taken into account, they cannot be guaranteed. Sault College is committed to doing everything possible to accommodate the needs of students with disabilities. If you have exceptional needs, you should include such information on your application for residency.

 Sault College Student Safety

The Sault College Campus Watch Program is a student-run initiative that aims to keep everyone on campus safe and comfortable after regular business hours. The program runs from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Campus Watch Program provides these three services: Safe Walk Services, Walk by Services, and Campus Walk Patrols.
