The Diploma of General Studies can serve as your interdisciplinary introduction to university studies. The two-year (60-credit) program allows you to customize your program of study by choosing from a wide range of courses to select those that match your interests and goals.If you plan to continue on to complete a degree (BIS, BA, BBA, BCIS, BSc, etc.) once you have completed your diploma, it is highly recommended that you complete the first- and second-year requirements of the degree program. You can also use up to 45 transfer credits within the diploma.If you are considering using the Diploma of General Studies in order to ladder into the Bachelor of Integrated Studies, make an appointment with an advisor to develop your learning goals and devise a unique plan for your studies.
B.C. secondary school graduation or equivalent.A minimum grade of C+ in English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12 (see Note) and a minimum of a C+ in one additional Approved Grade 12 course.Note: Students may also present English 12, English Literature 12, English 12 First Peoples, AP English, IB English A (standard level or higher level), or out-of-province equivalent.
