Program Overview

This three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma program, delivered over two and one-half years, is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC). Students practise primary oral healthcare in their roles as preventive specialists. As members of a self-regulated profession, dental hygienists are responsible to the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario for their practice decisions. Program emphasis is on preparing graduates to function effectively within a collaborative relationship which includes the client, community and other healthcare providers.

Official transcripts, Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent or Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) certificate or General Educational Development (GED) certificate, English: Grade 12 or equivalent with a grade of 70% or higher, Mathematics: Grade 12 or equivalent, Biology Grade 11 or 12 with a grade of 65% or higher, Chemistry Grade 11 or 12 with a grade of 65% or higher, Complete health program assessment, IELTS-6.5, TOEFL-IBT: 88 (with the minimum of 22 in each component: Reading 22; Listening: 22; Speaking: 22; Writing: 22), Completion of preparatory courses (4-months in duration): Introduction to Canadian Health Studies (ICHS)
