In this program, students focus on the planning, evaluation and administration of social/health care services within Indigenous communities. Students study business and community development with an emphasis on integrating cultural, social and health issues relevant to Indigenous peoples in Canada. Cultural teachings and smudging are integrated daily throughout each academic semester in social activities, individual program courses and Traditional Teacher/Elder visits. (Please note: Indigenous includes First Nations, Metis, Inuit and Non-Status People).
OSSD or equivalent with Grade 12 English (C or U), Secondary or high school transcripts with proof of graduation, subjects taken, and grades received, Math and English credits are required at the Grade 12 level, Test scores: TOEFL iBT of 79, IELTS of 6.0, CAEL of 60.
Students are prepared for entry-level administration and support staff positions within organizations such as community health centres, school boards, social service organizations, healing lodges and mental health centres.
