Semester Programme Classical Acting

1 Years On Campus Diploma Program

London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts

Program Overview

The course content is based on the work of Shakespeare and either Jacobean or English Comedy of Manners playwrights. Students undertake a minimum of 30 hours practical work a week, spent in class and rehearsal. Classes in acting, voice, movement, Alexander Technique, physical theatre, singing and historical dance form a core part of the overall course content. Students have the opportunity to apply their developing skills in scene study workshops. In the autumn, scene study and workshop performances centre on Shakespeare s late plays and comedies, and on Jacobean tragedy. Students joining the spring semester cover Shakespeare s histories and tragedies, and English Comedies of Manners. All performances are closed to the public.
