1 Years On Campus Diploma Program
The course content is based on the work of Shakespeare and either Jacobean or English Comedy of Manners playwrights. Students undertake a minimum of 30 hours practical work a week, spent in class and rehearsal. Classes in acting, voice, movement, Alexander Technique, physical theatre, singing and historical dance form a core part of the overall course content. Students have the opportunity to apply their developing skills in scene study workshops. In the autumn, scene study and workshop performances centre on Shakespeare s late plays and comedies, and on Jacobean tragedy. Students joining the spring semester cover Shakespeare s histories and tragedies, and English Comedies of Manners. All performances are closed to the public.
The minimum entry age for this course is 18. There is no upper age limit. There are no academic requirements for this course. Admission is by audition. Applicants should be fluent English speakers. Non-native speakers do not need to provide an English language test report when they apply as they assess English at the auditions, however they will need to provide a valid IELTS test report with an overall score of seven if offered a place.
