London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts History

The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art is a drama school situated in Hammersmith, London. The Academy was established by Henry Wylde in 1861. It is the oldest drama school in the United Kingdom. The Academy began offering speech examinations to the public In the 1880s.

The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts A move to the Talgarth Road in West London has enabled to develop the campus and training facilities for its students. The site was earlier home to the Royal Ballet School, which shifted to new, purpose-built facilities next to the Royal Opera House. In 2004 The Academy became an affiliate of the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama.
