Program Overview

The Major Concentration African Studies provides students with an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the African continent. Students wishing to major in African Studies should consult the Program Adviser at the beginning of their first academic year. In the African Studies Major concentration, students will be encouraged to identify an area within a discipline of the Faculty, taking as many relevant courses as possible in that field.
