Program Overview

The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) offers the MSc Accounting, Organisations, and Institutions course, a 10-month full-time course aimed at providing the student with an in-depth understanding of accounting in terms of organisational behaviour, institutional forms, and their impact on the broader business world. The course prepares students with the ability to take up strategic positions in the public and private sectors, focusing more specifically on the interdisciplinary connections between accounting and organisational theory.

Curriculum Structure:
The curriculum includes fundamental modules and option courses to ensure students are provided a solid grounding in accounting issues, while also having the opportunity to specialize in subjects of personal interest. The curriculum is comprehensive and includes:

  • Core Courses: Courses such as financial reporting, management accounting, and corporate finance.

  • Optional Courses: Students can choose from electives such as international accounting, financial analysis, and risk management.

  • Specialisations: Available specialisations are International Accounting and Finance, Accounting and Financial Management, and Finance. These specialisations will be listed on the degree certificate upon graduation.

Accreditation:
The MSc Accounting, Organisations, and Institutions programme is accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), an indicator of the programme's high academic quality. The programme is also a CFA Institute Partner, allowing students to be eligible for CFA Program scholarships.

Campus Location:
LSE is located in Houghton Street, London, giving students exposure to an enormous amount of resources in the heart of the UK's financial hub. On campus, the British Library of Political and Economic Science, the largest social sciences library in the world, is available, providing students with an extensive collection of research materials.
