Guidance on the application process and help to apply for up to five German state universities/Studienkollegs are included. GISMA has a full-time specialist consultancy service, helping you with every step of your studies. You will learn what courses universities offer and will be guided by advisors as to the documentation you need and which procedures to follow.
Jacobs University s Foundation Year Program explores different fields of study to acquire academic learning skills before starting bachelor s degree. Based on individual academic background and needs and goals, your own Foundation Year learning experience can be designed. A Foundation Year student can attend undergraduate courses from various fields of study and choose between different types of preparatory classes to improve academic skills. Furthermore, you live on the international campus and can enjoy the full perks of student life in the residential colleges.
The pathway program is designed to introduce you to the world of studying at university level in English. One-year of intensive language, business communication, mathematics, German and introductory business courses teach you the essential study skills you will need for your progression into your later undergraduate studies. This program is not stand-alone, it is connected to Bachelor program of New European College. German language lessons are included in the program
The Medical Natural Sciences program specifically prepares students for later studies in medicine at a German state university. This preparatory program combines modules in natural sciences, life sciences, and medicine with German language courses. The foundations in the natural sciences are laid in science modules, comprising a series of lectures in disciplines such as biology, chemistry, and physics with two corresponding lab courses. Students will also become familiar with basic concepts of life sciences and medicine in specialized modules. The medicine module will include an introduction to the German health care system. Students will be offered tailor-made German classes.

In cooperation with professors, physicians and career advisors, a challenging, university two-semester program of theory and practice has been designed. The Medical Preparatory Year includes preparation for medical tests, medical and natural sciences studies at a university with a biomedical focus and practical contents, which provide a real insight into the doctor,s profession.
