Program Overview

This course offers the opportunity to explore the ways in which material culture and art are studied by the two inter-related disciplines of Archaeology and History of Art. Both subjects are interested in the analysis of visual and material culture and the ways in which human societies use objects and spaces to express and negotiate identities, politics and culture. An emphasis is placed on training students' visual memory through the study of images.
