Program Overview

There is high demand for qualified early childhood specialists in this critical field. We offer a two-year Master of Teaching course that enables you to qualify as an early childhood teacher (Birth-Year 2). Early childhood educators play a critical and foundational role in preparing young children for life-long learning and participation in society. They are pivotal in creating safe learning environments for holistic child development, nurturing creative and curious instincts and fostering positive attitudes to learning and problem solving. As a graduate of this course, you'll be able to work in government and independent schools plus other early childhood settings, both nationally and internationally. The course focuses on the education and preparation of early childhood educators with importance placed on the interface between play-based learning and intentional teaching.

Additional Information & Requirements

A bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA; the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 60 per cent; at least one year of the bachelor's degree relevant to one or more learning areas in the Early Childhood or Primary school curriculum for applicants who wish to major in Early Childhood or Primary Teaching respectively; Applicants who have a bachelor's degree in education, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA, are not eligible for admission, English language competence; Test scores: TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, CAE
