Program Overview

The MPhil degree is designed for students to develop advanced skills in carrying out independent and sustained research. The thesis should demonstrate a critical application of specialist knowledge and make an independent contribution to existing research in the field. The School comprises the following departments: Audiology and Speech Pathology, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Optometry and Vision Sciences. Research projects are available in all departments and are grouped under broad research themes: cancer survivorship, child health and wellbeing, immunology and inflammation, practice and service improvement, recovery and rehabilitation across the lifespan, sensory neuroscience.

A four-year bachelor degree in a relevant discipline which includes a substantial research component equivalent to at least 25% of one year of full-time study and have achieved a minimum weighted average of H2A or higher; a masters degree in a relevant discipline which includes a substantial research component equivalent to at least 25% of one year of full-time study and achieved a minimum weighted average of H2A or higher; or a qualification and professional experience considered to be equivalent; and and two years of documented professional social work practice, submit a research proposal; provide referee reports and obtain the endorsement of a prospective supervisor, Test scores: TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, CAE
