Program Overview

This course aims to provide advanced studies in nursing practice and research to prepare nurses to contribute to the present and future development of health care services and the nursing profession. Throughout the program students will be introduced to the drivers for research within industry and the broader community; learn to identify and apply appropriate research paradigms and methods, and develop sound project management skills. Students will become competent at reviewing, critiquing and synthesising literature to support their research and will develop skills for completion and submission of research grant proposals for ethical approval and funding applications. Successful completion of the program through submission of an (18 unit) minor thesis prepares students for higher degree research studies (PhD) and/or research in the clinical setting.
