Program Overview

The Global Health Care (Learning and Teaching) specialisation aims to advance knowledge and skills for health professions education. It explores the theory and practice of teaching in health professions and encourages students to develop a broad understanding of both learning and teaching. There are two topics in this specialisation. One focuses on enhancing the learners experiences though teaching approaches to engage individual learners in a variety of education settings including university and the workplace. Th other focuses on planning learning, and the educators role in curriculum design, implementation and assessment of learning in a variety of education settings. Students will have the opportunity to reflect on, and explore, the complexities of learning and teaching in health professions students, including nursing, midwifery and others.
