The Master by Research at Charles Darwin University is a research-focused postgraduate degree in which students undertake an independent research project under the supervision of two or more supervisors. Students develop advanced research skills and communicate their research findings through a thesis or another approved format.

Curriculum Structure:

Year 1: Students undertake their research project while completing training in research integrity, research methods, communication, personal development and career development. They also develop and present a research proposal to confirm their candidature.

Year 2: Students continue and complete their research project, undertake a second research presentation and submit a thesis, usually comprising 30,000 to 50,000 words, or an approved alternative research output with an exegesis.
