Biostatistics provides the concepts and analytic skills required to tackle today s ever-increasing deluge of quantitative data in the health sciences, so that we can apply new understanding to the solution of real-world problems. It encompasses the design of experiments and the collection, summary and analysis of data, including, importantly, the interpretation and communication of data analysis to health professionals. If you naturally ask why , appreciate the value of scientific rigour and have an inclination towards grappling with data to address complex real-world problems, then this degree will equip you with the skills and insights needed for using data to improve health. Your professional background could be in health sciences or mathematics; this degree suits both, but you must have an aptitude for mathematics.
A Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline, such as statistics, mathematics, biomedicine, psychology, science, pharmacy, health sciences, economics, from an approved university, with an average mark of at least H2B (70%) over the degree; and Successful completion (result of at least H3 or 65%) at tertiary level of at least one mathematics subject, including elements of multivariable calculus and linear algebra, Test scores: TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, CAE
