You will study a range of physical sciences with specific applications in medicine such as radiotherapy and imaging. A strong emphasis will be placed on the protection of workers, patients and staff from harmful effects of radiation. You will develop specialist knowledge and skills in the field of medical physics. This includes quantitative measurement and evaluation of radiation exposure for its safe use by staff for the benefit of patients.
You must have successfully completed an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) in a physical science, biomedical engineering disciplines having substantial physics and mathematics components, with a minimum average of 60%/Credit or a GPA of at least 2.0 (out of 4.0); IELTS (Academic): minimum overall band of 6.5 (with no individual band below 6.0) or TOEFL (Paper Based Test): minimum score of 580 (TWE 4.5) or TOEFL (Internet Based Test - IBT): minimum overall score of 92 (with minimum of 20 in all sections) or Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE (A)): minimum score of 58 (with no communication band less than 50) or Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): minimum of 176 with no less than 169 in any component.Careers in radiotherapymedical imagingnuclear medicineradiation protectionmining and prospectinggovernment regulatory agenciesassociated research activities of non-hospital institutions
