Program Overview

The Master of Criminology is a cutting-edge criminology program that critically engages with crime, criminal law and criminal justice in local and global contexts. From international crimes, like terrorism and genocide, to local issues, such as indigenous justice and injustice, the program exposes students to the latest theoretical and practical advances in these fields. Students will take a suite of core subjects focusing on international crime and justice, counter-terrorism, criminal justice research and evaluation, and new developments in criminological theory and practice. Optional subjects focus on organisational crime and deviance, genocide and human rights, crime prevention, drug use and policy, punishment and contemporary punitiveness, cultural representations of crime and indigenous justice and settler-colonialism.
