Program Overview

The program examines major and current problems of Slavic and Balkan Middle Ages, of Old Bulgarian literature and culture, of Old Slavic literary language constructing and functioning. The students are made familiar with the technique of scientific research, a practicum of academic writing and computer processing of Middle Age texts is also included. Graduated students from this program will be able to work as scientists, journalists, editors, lecturers, librarians, administrators, etc.

Completed higher education with Bachelors, average grade of the applicant's Diploma for higher education BA / BSc degree to be no less than the equivalent of Good 4 according to the Bulgarian system of grades, completed Application form or a letter of application containing a brief CV, Validated copy and a certified translation of a Diploma for completed secondary education including a supplement specifying the period of attendance and the grades in different subjects or a validated copy and a certified translation of a Diploma for completed higher education, document issued by a competent body certifying the applicant's eligibility to continue his/her studies in higher educational institutions in the country in which he/she has completed his/her secondary education or a document certifying the recognition of the applicant's Diploma for higher education acquired from a foreign educational institution, medical certificate issued no earlier than a month before the application procedure, photocopy of the applicant's passport / identity card, 4 recent photographs, declaration for the financial provision of the applicant for the period of study, Proficiency in English language at a level of at least B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
