Program Overview

This 30 credit hour program offers advanced studies in the above areas of specialization, as well as directed studies in the repertoire of the student s instrument. Students study solo repertoire, participate in chamber ensembles, and undertake leadership roles in the ensemble most relevant to them (orchestra, concert band, wind ensemble, choir, or chamber choir). This program includes the performance of two full-length recitals. All students also take graduate courses in critical theory in the fine arts, and in research techniques specific to music. Graduate students in Performance participate in workshops with internationally renowned guest artists and are encouraged to perform in competitions at the national and international levels.

Additional Information & Requirements

A graduating average of at least 70 per cent from a four-year baccalaureate degree (or equivalent), 1st class/Upper Division in all degrees or equivalent, IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each band, MELAB of 85, TOEFL ibT of 80 with a minimum of 20 in each of the four components, (PTE) Academic of 59, CanTEST 4.5 with No Band below 4.0, CAEL of 70, Transcripts, Resume and Personal Statement, References
