Program Overview

The Master of Music (MMus) degree is available in three fields: MMus in Composition; MMus in Literature and Performance; and MMus in Music Education. The aim of the course is to train musicians in the art of choral conducting, vocal performance or organ performance; to instruct them in diverse aspects of the history and practice of choral music; to provide the technical skills required to work with historic repertoires and to make musical arrangements; to facilitate research into and performance of new or little-known repertoire; to give students the experience of observing and working in the collegiate chapel choirs; for singers and organists to develop skills in both solo and ensemble performance.

Additional Information & Requirements

A Bachelor of Music in Music History, Bachelor of Arts with Honours Music, or equivalent, Demonstrated knowledge of bibliographical and research techniques, Submission of 1-2 recently written research papers, TOEFL ibT of 86 with no individual score below 20, IELTS of 6 out of 9, MELAB of 80 , CAEL of 60, Western English Language Centre- successful completion of the High-Advanced level, CultureWorks- successful completion of the High-Advanced level, Fanshawe College s ESL Program- graduation from Level 5, Advanced Academic Preparation, with a minimum 80% in all components
